TeachThought – A great website

In the process of updating my Educational Connections website (which is a growing collection of articles, tools and sites that I have learned about through social media), I came across TeachThought a great collection of articles and resources for today’s educator.  So much to read and learn.  It’s worth the time to check it out.

Here’s how to reblog an article from TeachThought:

Positive Connections

Simple strategies can change your classroom interactions.  Based on a webinar by Rick Smith of Conscious Learning, he suggested the the following positive connections strategy.

2 minutes of conversation with a struggling student (i.e. behaviour) per day for 10 days in a row resulted in an 85% improvement.

Taking the time to chat with a student about things they are interested in is a simple way to create positive connections with students.  Two minutes a day might just change your entire day and engage a student in learning.
